well i got a gaming mouse(laser mouse is it if you wonder) that can go up to 2500DPI... and so far i am on 2000DPI or it feels like its to fast and i do 3d models at that sensitivity soon i will do in 2500DPI when i get used to it or so

for me that feels like a normal mouse but if i go back to lower it feels so sloooooow

lol, yeah, 3D software is quite sensetive for mouse movement, but games require fast reactions

i am doing stuff now in 2500DPI lol

As long as it works for you it doesn't really mater what speed you have
